Paying for Damages

by Brittany Geragotelis

It's always so bizarre to me when TV shows that are wildly popular and award-winning go off the air. That's why I was puzzled when "Damages" wasn't renewed on FX after this past season...I mean, Glenn Close won an Emmy for the show for God sake.

I have to admit that I was also saddened because one of my very good friends, Zach Booth, played Glenn Close's son on the show...and I love watching him work his craft (he's not so bad on the eyes, either). I know he enjoyed the role and the phenomenal cast, so the cancellation of the show was disappointing for him (not to mention his fans).

Well, lucky us, DirecTV sees the show for what it is...an Emmy goldmine. The network has picked up the show for another 20 episodes (2 more seasons). Here's hoping that Zach plays a more prominent role on the new network next season!

5x5,
B.
